Part-time faculty at a pair of Halifax-area universities are back to work Monday after ratifying new collective agreements.
CUPE 3912 members at Saint Mary’s University and Mount Saint Vincent University gave the OK to new contracts over the weekend.
According to CUPE, 88 per cent of members at SMU approved the new deal. Numbers were not available from MSVU.
The deal includes increases in pay that put both schools near the top of the scale for undergraduate universities in Atlantic Canada.
Under their previous deal, they had been at the bottom.
The deals follow a similar agreement reached at Dalhousie last month.
Both universities announced affected classes will resume Monday.
MSVU announced the university senate would meet Monday to determine any changes to support affected students and faculty.
