Four youth and an adult were arrested last week in connection with a firearm incident and flight from police in Riverview.
At approximately 1:48 a.m. on Nov. 11, members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a firearm incident at a residence on Rivercrest Avenue.
The homeowner had come outside and found an unknown male inside of his vehicle in his driveway.
When the homeowner confronted the male, the male pointed a firearm at him and fled in a dark SUV waiting nearby.
Several officers were already searching the area for a dark Mitsubishi Outlander and dark Jeep Cherokee. Both vehicles had been reported stolen and had fled from police several time in the area that night.
A short time later, the Mitsubishi was found and police attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled at high speed. Police pursued through Riverview and toward Salisbury where the Jeep was spotted.
Members of the Caledonia Region RCMP detachment assisted.
Police tried a spike belt to stop the Jeep, but it drove around the belt and collided with a police vehicle. At that point, the Jeep went into a ditch and got stuck. Two youth were arrested.
The Mitsubishi got stuck in a field near Fredericton Road. Three youth and a 21-year-old were arrested.
The youth were later released from custody on conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
The 21-year-old was to have a bail hearing Friday in Moncton provincial court.
