A man has been arrested in a scam targeting seniors.
Halifax police say it was between May and June 2025, when there were five incidents where a person would call a senior pretending to be a family member who needed bail money.
Another person on the call would pretend to be a person of authority, giving instructions on how to money can be collected.
The 25-year-old suspect appeared in court November 10 for these charges:
-Fraud under $5000.00 (x4)
-Fraud over $5000.00
-Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00 (x4)
-Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00
Police say not to give personal information out to anyone unless you are sure the organization is legit.
