Halifax firefighters dealt with a fire involving multiple tractor-trailers in Dartmouth late Saturday.

The city’s firefighters’ union reported on its Facebook page that crews had responded to reports of visible fire in the area of Mount Hope Avenue and Orion Court.

Members discovered the fire at a cold storage facility.

The fire was spreading toward nearby commercial buildings, which prompted an escalation to the call.

A significant diesel spill also resulted from the fire. Hazmat crews were called in to deal with the spill.

The fire was contained and nearby structures were protected from further damage.
