People living in poverty will have a new place to get hot meals in Yarmouth.

Souls Harbour Rescue Mission is opening a new drop-in centre Tuesday.

The charity says they want to meet a growing demand for a safe place during the winter months.

They also want to give people things they need, like winter clothes and personal hygiene items.

The organization has seven other drop-in centres across the province.

The new facility will serve meals for the first time from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Yarmouth Wesleyan Church.
