A fire has caused significant damage to a home on Jasper Drive in Quispamsis.
Deputy Chief Shawn White of the Kennebecasis Valley Fire Department said crews were called just before 2 p.m. Friday after a report of flames on the front porch.
When firefighters arrived, the front of the home was fully involved.
“Once the fire went up the front of the home, it went through the eaves and into the attic,” White said.
“There is a significant amount of damage to the home, and the residents will not be returning anytime soon.”
White said the fire spread quickly, and mutual aid was requested from Hampton, Nauwigewauk, Long Reach and Kingston Peninsula to bring water tankers, since there are no hydrants in that area.
The fire is under control, but White said crews remain on scene to deal with hot spots.
No injuries have been reported, and no information has been released on the cause of the fire.
