Police are asking for the public’s help after gunfire struck a home in Lower Sackville.

RCMP say they were called around 1 a.m. after reports of gunshots along Riverside Drive near Candlewood Lane.

When officers first searched the area, they found no signs of a shooting or any victims.

Later that day, another witness reported hearing what sounded like gunfire around the same time and saw a black sedan speeding away from the 1500 block of Riverside Drive.

When investigators canvassed the area again, they found a home with bullet holes.

No one inside was hurt, and police say the investigation remains ongoing.

It’s being led by the RCMP/Halifax Regional Police Integrated General Investigation Section, with support from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact RCMP/HRP Integrated GIS at 902-490-5020 or submit an anonymous tip through Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers.
