A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder on Broadview Avenue, according to Saint John police.

Officers responded to a call at a residence on Broadview Avenue around 6:41 a.m. on October 9.

When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old woman with serious injuries.

Emergency personnel treated her at the scene before she was taken to the hospital, where police say she remains in stable condition.

Investigators determined the incident was isolated and that the accused and victim were known to each other.

Police said the man was arrested on Wednesday and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning to face a charge of attempted murder.
