The Université de Moncton and Vitalité Health Network are teaming up to create the New Brunswick Health Research Institute..
The new Institute was announced on Friday morning at U de M.
Officials say it is dedicated to health research in New Brunswick.
The NBHRI transforms the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute (ACRI), with an expanded scope including cancer prevention and treatment, aging and seniors, mental health and chronic diseases.
It will pool resources and assist in training the next generation of scientists.
“By joining forces with Vitalité Health Network, we are fostering a true synergy in health research in New Brunswick advancing both scientific knowledge and its practical applications for the benefit of the community,” said Dr. Denis Prud’homme, President and Vice-Chancellor of the Université de Moncton.
The Institute will be led by Dr. Marc Surette as the President, CEO, and Chief Scientist.
