An example of affordable housing in Nova Scotia.. (Province of Nova Scotia)

Affordable housing units being preserved in Dartmouth, Truro

By Kevin Northup Oct 8, 2025 | 2:18 PM

Two-hundred affordable housing units have been preserved in Nova Scotia.

It’s through ‘Rooted’, a community housing organization for six properties in Dartmouth and Truro.

The province has given nearly $7 million for the project, and say it will allow the current tenants to stay in their homes.

Growth and Development minister Colton LeBlanc says this work is just as important as building new structures.

The units will now stay affordable for 30 years or until the mortgages mature.

The Dartmouth properties are on Primrose Street and Franklyn Court.
