Steven Comeau has been elected in Clare.

He won the District 5 special election with 402 votes on Saturday.

Gary LeBlanc finished second with 192 votes, Susan Comeau had 39 votes.

A special election was called after the death of longtime councillor Brian Comeau in June.

These results are unofficial, the official tally will be posted Tuesday.
