Police watchdog clears RCMP member after man fractures elbow during arrest

By News Oct 2, 2025 | 4:43 PM

The province’s police watchdog has cleared an RCMP member of any wrongdoing after an arrest in Dartmouth.

SiRT says it was on June 26 in Cole Harbour when they responded to a domestic disturbance call.

There had been previous calls of this nature to the home, with multiple arrest warrants out for the man.

He was found in a detached garage on the property and resisted arrest requiring multiple officers to put him in handcuffs.

He was brought to the ground and his elbow was fractured.

SiRT then started an investigation immediately.
