A man has been re-charged with second degree murder in the death of a woman eight years ago.
In 2017, the body of 27-year-old Laura Ross was found in a burned-out garage in South Rawdon.
Investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set, and her death was ruled a homicide.
A 27-year-old Upper Sackville man was initially charged with second-degree murder, but the Crown withdrew the charge two years later.
RCMP say thanks to new evidence, they were able to re-charge the man, who is now 35-years-old.
In a statement, retired Cpl. Angela McKay says their commitment to Ross never waivered, despite setbacks in the investigation
The man was arrested Wednesday, and was scheduled to appear in Shubenacadie Provincial Court.
