According to the province, the increase equates to a 2.4 per cent annual increase for minimum wage workers based on the Ontario Consumer Price Index, a measure of inflation that represents changes in prices experienced by Ontario consumers.

When the increase goes into effect, a worker earning minimum wage and putting in 40 hours a week will see an annual pay increase of more than $800.
