Five people are in custody and one person is in hospital after a shooting in Halifax.

Police say it happened just before 6 p.m., Friday on Intercontinental Street.

All involved left the scene but were found quickly.

Charges have not been laid at this time.

Intercontinental Street, Hood Street and a section of Kempt Road are closed as of 8:30 p.m.
