All City-operated parks and trails in Saint John have reopened to the public.

While access has resumed, officials are urging residents to remain cautious due to ongoing wildfire risks.

The burn ban remains in effect across the province, even as most restrictions on Crown lands have been lifted.

As a result, the city has prohibited wood and propane fires, BBQs, fireworks, and any outdoor open flames in all municipal parks.

Residents are also asked to avoid smoking in wooded areas, using ATVs irresponsibly on trails, and setting off backyard fireworks.

These activities pose serious fire risks under current dry conditions, according to the city.

The Saint John Fire Department warns that fines for violating the provincial burn ban range from $140 to $2,100.

Anyone who sees smoke or fire is urged to call 911 immediately to help crews respond quickly and prevent escalation.

The Saint John Emergency Management Organization (SJEMO) remains in active monitoring mode and is prepared to respond as needed.

Officials continue to ask the public to stay vigilant and follow all safety guidelines to help protect the community.
