Some Argyle councillors, staff to be investigated for conflict of interest

By News Sep 5, 2025 | 10:43 AM

Conflict of interest claims against some Argyle councillors and staff will be investigated.

An independent lawyer will review the alleged conduct breaches from the site selection process of the Aquaculture Development Area.

Some residents are not happy with how the 52 sites in Lobster Bay were chosen and brought the claims to council’s attention.

In a release, Deputy Warden Ted Saulnier says the integrity of council is being questioned, and this is the right approach to address that.

Former councillors and employees named in the allegations will not be investigated.

Council says they’re committed to the findings and won’t provide further comment until it’s been completed.
