Annapolis County says ‘no timetable’ on return home for wildfire evacuees

By Kevin Northup Sep 2, 2025 | 10:52 AM

As the Long Lake wildfire burns out of control, many are wondering when they’ll be able to go home.

It’s been three weeks since the Annapolis County blaze broke out, with hundreds still evacuated.

The municipality says they need the all-clear from the Department of Natural Resources before re-entries happen, and there’s no timetable in place.

When that order is given, they say it will be done in phases.

They add that RCMP are on scene and doing patrols of evacuated areas.

As far as pets and livestock in those zones, the Department of Agriculture are assisting as much as they can.
