Unexpected cruise ship visit to Saint John

By Brad Perry Aug 21, 2025 | 12:05 PM

A hurricane in the Atlantic brought an unexpected visitor to Saint John this week.

The Norwegian Aqua and its roughly 3,000 passengers docked in the city on Wednesday.

The cruise ship was headed for Bermuda, but was forced to divert due to the approaching hurricane Erin.

It is not unusual for Saint John to get an unscheduled cruise ship or two each season due to weather.

However, this was the first time that the Aqua made a visit to the Port City — it just set sail for the first time earlier this year.
