$58,000 raised for Alzheimer Society

By Randy Thoms Aug 21, 2025 | 4:49 PM

A successful Ride for Memories for the Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River District.

The event invites motorcycle enthusiasts on a journey across the western portion of northwestern Ontario in support of the Society.

This year’s event raised more than $58,000.

The money is used to offset the cost of programs and services offered at no cost to people with dementia and their families in the Kenora and Rainy River Districts.

Sixty motorcycles and, for the first time, several classic cars joined in on the journey, which ended in Dryden with a dinner and awards ceremony.

The top fundraisers were Jim Harty and Dave Canfield from Kenora and Kevin Kennedy from Pinewood.

Others in the top ten were Bob Gordon, Sandra Herd, Dennis Desaulniers, John McTaggart, Edwin Froese, Vicky Cory and Johanne Dustin.

The Society is still accepting donations.

You can contribute by contacting the Society’s Kenora office at 807-468-1516, emailing info@alzheimerkrr.com or clicking here.
