A popular sandcastle competition will not go ahead.
The Clam Harbour Beach event was supposed to take place this Sunday.
The HRM says it normally attracts 10,000 people to a rural area, accessible by a single-lane road.
They say continued dry conditions and no immediate rain made the risk too high to safely move forward.
The beach is still open to the public, but the surrounding park area is closed because of the province’s travel restrictions in the woods.
