The Long Lake wildfire complex in Annapolis County remains out of control, with its size still estimated at 3,210 hectares.

Nova Scotia’s Department of Natural Resources says no homes have been damaged, but crews continue to work on dozer guards along the flanks of the fire to keep it from spreading further.

On the ground this morning are 52 provincial wildfire personnel, 22 firefighters from Ontario, and 39 local responders. In the air, four water bombers from the Northwest Territories and a contracted helicopter are assisting with suppression efforts.

More reinforcements are expected later today, including planes from Manitoba and helicopters from Saskatchewan. Additional Ontario firefighters are also scheduled to arrive this evening.

Officials say the next public update will come this afternoon.
