Quarry in Inverness County to expand

By Kevin Northup Aug 7, 2025 | 12:59 PM

The McIntyres Mountain quarry is expanding.

The project in Kingsville, Inverness County received environmental assessment approval, which has 33 conditions.

It’s owned by Municipal Enterprises, and supplies high-quality aggregate for roads.

Aggregate was added to the province’s strategic minerals in May.

Environment minister Timothy Halman says pits and quarries supply essential materials for our roads, homes, schools and hospitals.
