The provincial government is investing over $4 million to support six training projects in northwestern Ontario.
“We’re protecting Ontario workers by training them today for the jobs of tomorrow,” said Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, David Piccini.
“Through targeted investments in innovative training projects across Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, we’re building a stronger, more resilient workforce and ensuring Ontario remains competitive in the face of U.S. tariffs.”
Behind the Wheel (1001017440 Ontario Inc.) is receiving the most funding, $960,190, to provide participants with driver education for the G1, G2, and G licences.
The project will also train and certify three Indigenous driving instructors to support sustainable driver training in First Nations communities.
