The Regional Food Distribution Association is launching a campaign aimed at supporting those in need in Thunder Bay and across the region.

Stronger Together 2.0 kicks off on Friday and runs through September 12.

The six-week campaign aims to collect cash and food donations to support the RFDA’s mission of fighting hunger.

“There are families in our city who are skipping meals, kids going to school hungry, and seniors choosing between medication and groceries,” said Executive Director, Volker Kromm. “That’s why we’re asking Thunder Bay to join us again, because we are truly Stronger Together.”

United Way of Thunder Bay is lending a helping hand and has pledged to match all donations received dollar for dollar up to $10,000.

The RFDA is encouraging residents to organize food drives at their work as well, and cash donations are being accepted.

Every six dollars raised funds a meal.
