15 tickets issued at scene of collision on 102 on-ramp

Fifteen summary offence tickets were issued Tuesday, when drivers ignored a closed on-ramp as police responded to a collision.

Police say it was around 7:20 a.m., on Highway 102 between exits 1A and 1H.

Once on scene, officers put a police vehicle with its lights to block the 1H on ramp.

Despite this, eight vehicles drove onto the shoulder of the road to get around the police car and onto the highway, ignoring verbal and physical directions.

Police say these actions put all involved at risk.

Some drivers were also issued tickets for not providing a driver’s license or proof of insurance.
