Driver’s licence mail service resumes in N.B.

The province announced that mail-outs for driver’s licences will resume next week after a pause caused by uncertainty at Canada Post.

Anyone who was previously instructed to pick up their licence at a Service New Brunswick centre is asked to do so by Monday.

Starting Tuesday, all remaining licences will be mailed directly to recipients, according to the government of New Brunswick’s social media post.

The province suspended online licence renewals and mail-outs last month due to the potential for postal service disruptions.

During that time, drivers were required to renew in person and return three weeks later to collect their licence.

Motor vehicle records remain up to date and valid for police verification.

However, residents travelling outside the province were advised to carry physical registration documents, as digital confirmations may not be accepted elsewhere.
