Some new furniture is coming to Rainy Lake Medical Center’s Chemotherapy and Infusion Therapy Department.

The International Falls hospital has received $10,000 to purchase new heated massage chairs.

The donation comes from North Star Electric Cooperative, with support from CoBank.

Hospital officials say patients get cold during treatments, and the chairs offer added comfort during the lengthy sessions.

The hospital usually provides heated blankets.

“These chairs will significantly enhance patient comfort,” states Betsy Loop, a registered nurse at RLMC, in a release.

RLMC’s Chemotherapy and Infusion Therapy Department offers treatment to patients close to home, provided in a private room that includes a television and extra seating for support people.
