It’s been a long time coming, but residents of St. Peter’s will finally have a new way to cool down this summer!

The splash pad is officially set to open.

According to a social media page dedicated to the splash pad, it will be ready, Friday.

Organizer Jennifer McNamara told our newsroom; she had the idea two years ago and since then it has been an all-hand-on-deck effort.

They have been collecting donations and will continue to accept funds that will go to the finishing touches.

The grand opening is slated for August 2.
