Meteghan RCMP have seized about 40,000 unstamped cigarettes from a home in Bangor, N.S.
Police say they used a warrant to search a home on Maza Road on Tuesday.
They arrested a 48-year-old man inside and found more than 200 cartons of unstamped tobacco, which investigators say held the 40,000 cigarettes.
Officers also seized a quantity of cash and things that would be used to help with selling the cigarettes.
He faces charges of:
- selling Tobacco and Tobacco products
- illegally owning unstamped tobacco
- owning tobacco without paying tax on it
- owning tobacco without the legally required markings on it
The man was released and will later appear in court.
Meteghan RCMP is leading the investigation with some support from Digby RCMP.
