Halifax says there is no risk to the public from a newly spotted forest fire in the area of Porter’s Lake, near exit 20 on Highway 107.

According to a hfxALERT, fire crews are holding the fire where it is, and the Department of Natural Resources and Halifax firefighters are monitoring hotspots.

The city says they will provide more updates if necessary.
