Man facing assault charges after barricading in Dartmouth home

A man is facing assault and confinement charges after barricading himself in a Dartmouth home.

Police say it was Saturday afternoon around 2 p.m. when they responded to an assault on Demetrous Lane.

The victim, who knows the suspect, was able to get away and was taken to hospital.

The 34-year-old man then refused to leave, negotiators were called to the scene, the suspect was arrested a few hours later.

He is scheduled for court, Monday, to face these charges:

  • Assault
  • Unlawful confinement
  • Assault a peace officer with a weapon (x2)
  • Resist arrest
