UPDATE: Worker dies after being struck by commercial vehicle in Moncton

A man has died from his injuries after being struck by a commercial vehicle in Moncton, WorkSafeNB has confirmed.

First responders were called to Edinburgh Drive around 2:50 p.m. Thursday, according to the Moncton Fire Department.

Platoon Chief Brad Calhoun told our newsroom that a man had been taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

On Friday, a spokesperson for WorkSafeNB confirmed to our newsroom that the victim later died from their injuries.

“We can also confirm the deceased worked for Casey Concrete Ltd. No one from the public was involved in the incident,” Lynn Meahan-Carson wrote in an email.

Meahan-Carson said no further details would be released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
