The Kam River Fighting Walleye battled hard but came up short at the Centennial Cup in Calgary, falling 3-2 to the Northern Manitoba Blizzard on Monday night.
They had the lead twice during the game, but two third-period goals from Manitoba turned the momentum.
Despite pushing for the equalizer in the final minutes, the Walleye couldn’t find the tying goal before time expired.
Now sitting at 1-2 in the tournament, Kam River faces a must-win matchup against the Greater Sudbury Cubs on Wednesday night to keep their championship hopes alive.
