Get involved in community cleanups in Greater Moncton

By Tara Clow Apr 25, 2025 | 5:38 AM

The City of Moncton is about to get a whole lot cleaner.

The annual Earth Day clean-up runs from Friday through Sunday.

Tim Moerman, director of environmental planning and management, encourages everyone to sign up.

“Essentially, it’s collecting trash that has built up on our trails and our parks over the winter months. Eco360 will come and pick them up at the end of the day,” said Moerman.

Volunteers can sign up to pick up trash in one of the 29 zones in the city.

Clean-up kits are being provided by the City of Moncton, including garbage bags, gloves and other items.

“Always a very popular event. We always have a lot of people coming out to participate. It’s run by the recreation department, and it’s always very successful,” Moerman adds.

More information can be found on the City of Moncton website.

The Town of Riverview is also hosting its Community Clean-up month. It began on Tuesday and runs until May 21.

You can contact Parks and Recreation to let them know where in your neighbourhood you’d like to help out. Clean-up kits are also available.

Earth Day festivities in Dieppe will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rotary St-Anselme Park.
