Seven students have been recognized at Confederation College’s first Spring Formal and Superior Spirit Awards Gala.

The awards recognize students who are involved on campus outside of academics.

“While our college is committed to providing an exceptional academic experience for every student, we recognize that success goes far beyond the classroom,” said President Michelle Salo. “Leadership, involvement in campus life, being a positive presence, and upholding our values are all essential. These awards are our way of recognizing and thanking the students who embody that spirit every day.”

The 2025 Superior Spirit Awards recipients are:

  • Sustainable Development Goals Champion Award – Maddyson Bouvier
  • Future Alumni Leader Award – Hardika Narayankar
  • Confed Cares Champion Award – Deepak Babu
  • Campus Employment Service Employee of the Year Award – Anna Mattys
  • Thunderhawks Student Life Advocate Award – Sarah-Beth Furlong
  • Thunderhawks Student Life Award – Chinju Davis
  • SUCCI/OASA Student Leadership Graduate Award – Geetika Verma

Nominations were submitted by peers, faculty and staff and the winners were selected by the departments sponsoring each award category.

“Winning this award means so much to me! It’s such a meaningful way to wrap up my time at Confederation College,” said Geetika Verma, the winner of the SUCCI/OASA Student Leadership Graduate Award. “I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished here and excited to carry everything I’ve learned into the next chapter.”

Each award recipient received a $250 prize and a certificate in recognition of their achievements.
