Thunder Bay is receiving a quarterly payment of $728,748 from OLG for hosting Gateway Casino.
The payment is for January 1 to March 31 and is the last payment of OLG’s 2024/2025 fiscal year.
The most recent payment brings the city’s total received up to $2,915,335 for the year.
The payments are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“Gateway Casinos Thunder Bay strengthens the community through sharing gaming revenue that supports local priorities and programs,” said Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, Stan Cho. “In addition to job creation and community support, the Municipality Contribution Agreement with OLG delivers substantial benefits to Thunder Bay.”
Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.5 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
Thunder Bay has received $58,332,496 since the local casino opened in August 2000.
