One person has been killed in a collision on Highway 11 between Geraldton and Hearst.

The accident took place around 11:30 Saturday morning involving a semi-tractor trailer unit and a passenger vehicle.

In addition to the fatality, two other people were transported to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Highway 11 was closed for about 12 hours as a result of the collision.

The OPP say while the investigation is ongoing, they don’t anticipate any charges.
