Your garbage collection is going to be on a different day because of Good Friday.

Next week, garbage and recycling collection will be one day earlier for all residents, and there will be no collection on Good Friday.

The following are the Easter holiday waste collection changes:

  • AREA 1 (Tuesday collection day): Collection moves to Monday
  • AREA 2 (Wednesday collection day): Collection moves to Tuesday
  • AREA 3 (Thursday collection day): Collection moves to Wednesday
  • AREA 4 (Friday collection day): Collection moves to Thursday

In addition to the waste collection changes, the City of Thunder Bay’s Solid Waste & Recycling Facility (Landfill) will be operating on the following hours:

  • Good Friday, April 18: Closed
  • Saturday, April 19: 8 am – 4:30 pm
  • Easter Sunday, April 20: Closed
  • Easter Monday, April 21: Closed

Regular Landfill hours return on Tuesday, April 22.

The city is reminding residents that they can receive waste and recycling collection reminders for free by phone, email, or through the Thunder Bay Waste Recycling app.
