No action is being taken to adjust water levels despite recent storms that have hit the Borderland region.

The International-Rainy Lake of the Watershed Board’s Water Levels Committee is recommends levels on Rainy Lake and Namakan (NAM-a-kun) Lakes remain within the targets set last month.

Rainy Lake is to be within 35-65% band of the rule curve while Namakan Lake is targeted for the 40-65% band of its rule curve.

The Water Levels Committee says conditions and forecasts continue to be monitored and will take further directions if needed.

Recent storms are not prompting any change to the levels of Rainy or Namakan Lakes.

The International-Rainy Lake of the Watershed Board’s Water Levels Committee says levels will stay within the targets set in early March.

Conditions in the basin were drier than normal during the winter.

The region has been hit a couple of storms that have brought significant snowfall.
