Big drop expected at N.B. fuel pumps Friday night

By Brad Perry Apr 4, 2025 | 4:24 PM

If you were planning to get fuel on Friday night, waiting might be a good idea.

An industry source says the interrupter clause will be invoked at midnight.

Gasoline prices will drop by nine cents, while diesel prices will fall by more than seven cents.

This will mark the third time this week that fuel prices have been adjusted in the province.

The carbon price paid by consumers on fuel products was set at zero as of Tuesday.

That pushed gasoline prices down by 20 cents and diesel prices down by nearly 25 cents.

During the regular weekly setting on Thursday night, gasoline prices increased by nearly six cents.

Maximum prices in New Brunswick currently range from $1.49 for regular self-serve gasoline to $1.60 for diesel.
