RCMP are looking for information after a young person was hit in a marked crosswalk in Cole Harbour.

It happened Wednesday around 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Cole Harbour Road and Perron Drive.

Police say according to investigators, a red SUV travelling east on Cole Harbour Road hit the pedestrian in a lit, marked crosswalk near the intersection.

The driver, described as a white woman in her 50’s, stopped and asked the young person if they were ok but then left the scene.

The victim is a youth from Cole Harbour and had minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
