
Nipigon drug bust seizure - (Supplied via OPP)
Two home searches in the Nipigon area have led to the seizure of suspected drugs and three arrests.
On March 24, officers performed a search in Lake Helen First Nation (Red Rock Indian Band).
The investigation led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and cash.
As a result, a 43-year-old from Nipigon is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The accused was released from custody with a future court date.
On March 25, officers also searched a home in Red Rock.
Suspected cocaine, amphetamine, psilocybin, and cash were seized, and two suspects were arrested.
As a result, a 33-year-old from Red Rock is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
A 26-year-old from Red Rock is facing the following charges:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
- Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
The accused was released from custody with a future court date.
