The owners of Mariners Centre are going to replace an aging ice-pad.
The Town and Municipality of Yarmouth and the Municipality of Argyle agreed at separate meetings to cover the cost, based on their intermunicipal agreement.
The ice pad in the main arena is 25 years old and nearing its end-of-life, with leaks in the pipes below the floor.
It’s going to cost about $2 million to replace.
Work is expected to get underway in the spring of 2026, and take between four-to-six months.
