The RCMP have reopened Willis Lane in North Preston near Halifax after it was temporarily closed earlier Thursday morning during police searches.

Officers remain on-site in both North Preston and Paris Lane in Westphal as part of an ongoing investigation, according to an updated social media post by the RCMP around 8:02 a.m.

Police say residents in these areas should expect a significant police presence.

At 6:15 a.m., the RCMP posted on social media that officers were conducting searches at Willis Lane and Paris Lane.

The public was advised to avoid these areas to allow the investigation to proceed smoothly.

The RCMP has assured there is no danger to public safety but has not provided any further details about the nature of the operation.
