Fuel prices expected to climb this week

New Brunswickers will be paying more at the fuel pumps on Friday, according to an industry source.

The maximum price for regular self-serve is expected to climb by four cents per litre on Thursday night.

Diesel users will also see an increase with prices set to rise by around three cents per litre.

Currently, New Brunswickers are paying a maximum of $1.60 per litre for regular self-serve, $1.83 per litre for diesel and $1.47 per litre for home heating oil.

In Nova Scotia, regular self-serve ranges from $1.60 to $1.64 per litre while diesel is selling for between $1.78 and $1.82 per litre.

On Prince Edward Island, the price for regular self-serve is around $1.70 per litre, diesel costs around $2.01 per litre and home heating oil is selling for a maximum of $1.42 per litre.

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices every Friday at 12:01 a.m.
