$77,000 in illegal drugs, gun seized in Thunder Bay

Three people are facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation in the region.

On Tuesday, officers arrested three people at a hotel in Thunder Bay through the ongoing investigation.

So far, the investigation has led to the seizure of the following through two searches:

  • 450 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • 67 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 58 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • 34 suspected hydromorphone pills
  • 95 suspected oxycodone pills
  • Handgun with ammunition
  • Drug trafficking related paraphernalia

The street value of the drugs seized is roughly $77,000.

As a result, a 45-year-old, 40-year-old, and 38-year-old from Thunder Bay are facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – hydromorphone
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, or prohibited device or ammunition
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm or ammo

The 45-year-old has also been charged with possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
