A long-time Halifax councillor has passed away.
Russell Walker represented the Fairview and Clayton Park area for nearly three decades.
MLA Brad Johns gave him tribute at legislature Wednesday and said Walker died after a long battle with cancer.
He was first election in 1994 and served as Deputy Mayor in 2005 and 2006.
Walker did not reoffer in 2020.
In honour of Walker, flags were at half-mast at City Hall, Thursday.
