A Special Weather Statement has been issued for much of northern Ontario.
Environment Canada is predicting anywhere from 10 to 20 centimeters of snow.
Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the snow will likely start tomorrow night in the Lake of the Woods area.
“There is still a bit of uncertainty to the track of this system, so, some areas in northwestern Ontario close to the international border may see amounts in excess of 20 centimeters by late Friday,” explains Coulson.
Coulson suggests the system bringing snow to the region is massive.
“Special Weather Statements are now in effect for right along the international border into Thunder Bay, along the north shore of Lake Superior and in the corridor from Sault Ste. Marie and Wawa, eastwards towards Timiskaming area and the North Bay area.”
Coulson says even though it’s not going to be that cold, he expects most of the precipitation will fall in the form of snow.
