The federal Conservatives have selected a candidate for one of Thunder Bay’s ridings.
Former chief of Thunder Bay’s police service Bob Herman has been selected as the candidate for Thunder Bay-Superior North.
Herman has spent his entire life in Thunder Bay.
In addition to his time in the police force, he also served in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves.
He graduated from Confederation College’s Aviation Administration Management before spending 32 years in the police service.
He spent 11 years as chief of police and also served as the president of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police.
In 2012, he was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces by the Governor General of Canada.
After retiring from Thunder Bay Police Service, Bob went on to lead the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.
